SpywareBlaster Features: Protection

The SpywareBlaster Protection section is shown at SpywareBlaster start-up. It can also be accessed by pressing the "Protection" button on the left side of the application window.

The Basics:
In the center of the main SpywareBlaster window is a list titled "SpywareBlaster Database". This list is not a list of spyware on your system. It is a list of all the items SpywareBlaster can protect against.

To protect your computer against all items in the list, press the "Select All" button below the list, and then press the "Protect Against Checked Items" button. To remove protection, uncheck the items for which you wish to remove protection (or press the "Deselect All" button to uncheck all items) and press the "Remove Protection for Unchecked Items" button.

Color Coded Items:
When you first start SpywareBlaster, all of the items in the list will be displayed in red. If an item in the list is red, it means your computer is not protected against that item. (You may disable this option in Settings.)

Item Information:
The "More Info on Items" button, located directly below the SpywareBlaster Database list, displays the Database Information screen, where details on all spyware items in the database can be found.

IMPORTANT NOTE: SpywareBlaster does not need to run in the background to provide protection! Once you check items in the main Protection list and press the "Protect Against Checked Items" button, you can exit SpywareBlaster. You will then only need to start SpywareBlaster again to download updates and check any new items.
